Moray Coat of Arms

The Coat of Arms for Moray.

The arms were granted to the County Council in 1927, re-granted to the District Council on July 22, 1977 and again to the Area Council on March 22, 1996. The only difference is in the crowns used on the arms. These are thus not shown here. The motto is not used by the present Area Council.

The first and fourth quarter show the arms of the historical province of Moray. The second and third quarter show the arms of Thomas Randolph, First Earl of Moray in 1312.

The IBD Home Page and each IBD County Page has or will have (where possible) the relevant Coat of Arms. This is made possible thanks to a fantastic heraldry website called the International Civic Heraldry Website. Sometimes a description is not given due to lack of information, so if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated. You may visit this superb site by using the link below.
