North Yorkshire Coat of Arms

The Coat of Arms for North Yorkshire

The arms were granted on 29th April 1980. The red cross of St. George (which appeared in the arms of the former North Riding County Council and is also in the York City arms) has been charged with five white roses. The blue and green wavy bendlets represent the streams and the hills of the Yorkshire Dales and the Wolds.

Each IBD County Page has or will have (where possible) the relevant Coat of Arms. This is made possible thanks to a fantastic heraldry website called the International Civic Heraldry Website. Sometimes a description is not given due to lack of information, so if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated. You may visit this superb site by using the link below.
